Enhanced Criminal Records Certificates - Another Victory for Common Sense - West Mercia decide not to appeal!
West Mercia Accept Judges Decision and Decide Not To Appeal
Following on from the Judgement of The Honourable Mr Justice Wyn Williams, in the case of The Queen (on the application of S) v West Mercia Police, we are pleased to confirm that the Chief Constable of West Mercia Police has decided not to pursue an appeal.
This brings to a final and satisfactory conclusion the many years of distress and anxiety suffered by our client Mr S and his family.
Client's Perspective
"After I received an enhanced CRB certificate that was untruthful I was told that the Police never change their mind. I needed a legal firm to fight my corner, to leave "no stone unturned", to be as determined as I was to get justice and a true certificate.
I am delighted to say Paul Dumbleton and his team have not let me down. Paul's determination and eye for fact and detail were in evidence from the beginning of the 2 1/2 year struggle for justice. Paul handled the case skillfully and recommended Peter Prescott QC to advise and represent us in Court. Paul and Peter were an excellent team to take on the establishment. There was meticulous planning and preparation between them and regular communication to myself.
It was as difficult as I was told at the start to get the Police to change their decision and there were many frustrating times. Paul's confidence in my case and belief that we were doing the right thing helped my wife and I through it.
Peter's first class written and verbal skills presented our case at the High Court. To have the judge confirm that the certificate was unlawful is confirmation of Paul and his teams professionalism and dedication. I am so pleased I chose Beech Jones De Lloyd and would highly recommend them."
